College of Sport Sciences at Chung-Ang University Secures Conference Grant for 9th IOHSK International Conference

The International Organization for Health, Sports, and Kinesiology (IOHSK) is pleased to announce that the College of Sport Sciences at Chung-Ang University, co-host of the 9th IOHSK International Conference, was awarded the International Academic Conference Hosting Expense Support Program Grant on April 14, 2026, by Chung-Ang University. This institutional support reflects Chung-Ang University’s continued commitment to advancing international academic exchange and collaborative research.
This grant program is designed to support internationally oriented academic activities organized at the college or department level. Its purpose is to promote scholarly exchange, strengthen research networks, and establish a foundation for sustained international collaborative research. The program supports conferences and related events jointly organized by academic societies, colleges or departments, and external partner institutions, particularly those involving participation from two or more overseas institutions. Based on the approved program description, eligible expenses include items such as honoraria, lodging, venue and facility usage fees, production of presentation materials and invitations, poster and banner printing, supplies, transportation, and other operational costs associated with the main event. Supporting documentation is required for officially planned programs and activities.
The application materials were discussed and prepared beginning in early February 2026 by Dean Dr. Sungje Park of Chung-Ang University, who also serves as co-chair of the 9th IOHSK International Conference, together with his colleagues and staff in the College of Sport Sciences and Dr. Hosung So, President and CEO of IOHSK. The completed application was submitted on February 27, 2026.
Through this program, the College of Sport Sciences at Chung-Ang University received 5,000,000 Korean won in support of the conference. This funding will provide meaningful assistance to the planning and implementation of the 9th IOHSK International Conference, and IOHSK is currently reviewing the most effective and responsible ways to allocate the grant in support of conference operations and participant experience.
IOHSK is deeply grateful for this generous support, which will contribute significantly to the successful organization of the conference. IOHSK extends its sincere appreciation to Dean Dr. Sungje Park and his colleagues for their time, dedication, and leadership in preparing and submitting the grant application. IOHSK also expresses its gratitude to Chung-Ang University for its strong support of this international academic event, which is expected to welcome participants from more than 20 countries and over 50 institutions to Chung-Ang University from July 21 to 26, 2026.

Among its notable alumni is Ji Eun-hee, whom Chung-Ang University identifies as a graduate of the College of Sport Sciences, Class of 2005. She has achieved major professional success on the LPGA Tour, including victory at the 2022 Bank of Hope LPGA Match-Play, as well as earlier wins at the Kia Classic and the U.S. Women’s Open.
Chung-Ang University has likewise established a strong reputation in basketball, producing outstanding players who advanced to professional leagues and building one of Korea’s most respected university basketball traditions. The university’s basketball program won the 41st MBC National College Basketball Tournament in July 2025 and the 2026 University Basketball Winter Challenge, further reinforcing its longstanding national prominence.
In addition, the current President of the Republic of Korea, Lee Jae Myung, is a graduate of Chung-Ang University’s College of Law, underscoring the university’s broader legacy of leadership and public service.
